NSW Shadow Health Minister Ryan Park has criticised the state government, saying there needs to be adequate resources to manage the spread of the Omicron variant.
This comes after Health Minister Brad Hazzard said he expects everyone will catch the Omicron variant at some point.
“What I think people expect is for a premier and minister not to just put their hands up and say, everyone’s going to get Omicron,” Mr Park told Sky News Australia.
“What we need is a plan for our hospitals, a plan for increasing our testing facilities, a plan for increasing our vaccination clinics.
“You don’t just simply say ‘everyone’s going to get it so we’ll walk away’ – that’s not leadership, and that’s not what the community expect.”
