Unlicensed driver slams into semi-trailer after crash in Sydney's west

An alleged disqualified driver has escaped injury after a crash in Sydney's west which saw the roof of his car torn off by a semi-trailer.

Police said a 37-year-old man was driving a Nissan Murano when he collided with Nissan Navara about 5.20pm yesterday along Hassall Stree at Wetherill Park.

The impact of the crash forced the Murano to crash into a parked semi-trailer.

The Murano driver was treated for minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital as a precaution.

The 66-year-old driver and passengers of the Navara were uninjured.

The 37-year-old man has been issued with a court attendance notice for driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period along with negligent driving.

He will appear at Fairfield Local Court on June 13.
