Third man who allegedly escaped from correctional centre found

The third man who allegedly escaped from a correctional centre near the Gold Coast has been found by Queensland Police.

Antonio David Mene allegedly fled Palen Creek Correctional Centre in Rathdowney, about 70km west of the Gold Coast, with two other prisoners on Sunday.

Queensland Police said he was located at Ravenshoe around 3pm on Tuesday.

Mene is serving a three-year sentence for illegal use of a motor vehicle.

"He will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with one count of escape lawful custody," Queensland Police said in a statement.

The two other men, 32-year-old Daniel Badcock and 20-year-old Osiah Pilton, were found by police at Northgate, a suburb in Brisbane more than 100km from the correctional centre, around 10am yesterday.

Badcock is serving a year for weapons or explosives offences and Pilton has a year and nine months for entering a dwelling with intent.

The prison is a low-security centre made up of a series of buildings just off the Mount Lindesay Highway.
