Teenager killed in Thredbo skiing accident

A teenage boy has died while skiing in NSW.

The 18-year-old is believed to have lost control on a slope, veered off and hit trees, NSW Police said.

The accident happened at 11am on Sunday at Thredbo, in the Snowy Mountains.

Other skiers noticed he was hurt and called for help.

He was treated at the scene but died after being taken to a medical centre.

Shore School in North Sydney revealed the victim was an former student who left the school last year.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
