Swimmers cleared after dolphin mauled by shark in Sydney

Swimmers have been cleared from the water at a Sydney beach after a dolphin was mauled by a shark.

A shark alarm has gone off at Manly and Shelly Beach, as crews began attempting to help the dolphin before 8am this morning.

Hundreds were on the beach for the Manly Open Surf Classic this morning.

The dolphin swam incredibly close to the shore, where competitors lined the beach.
