Homicide detectives are investigating after the mummified body of a 69-year-old man was found in a home on the Gold Coast last month.
Police suspect the man had died potentially years ago in the home, where his wife and stepson also lived.
When a relative came up from Canberra to visit but was denied entry to the home, she called police, police sources told 9News.

On April 17, officers came to the home on Edinburgh Road in Benowa and found the body.
Because of how long the 69-year-old man has been dead, police have not yet been able to determine if he has any injuries which could indicate the cause of death.
Nobody has been charged and police have not said if the death was suspicious.
Investigations are ongoing.
