Notorious underworld figure Gavin "Capable" Preston has reportedly been shot and killed in Melbourne's northwest in a suspected gangland attack, The Age reports.
He was reportedly shot multiple times at a cafe in Keilor Village along with one other man.
Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton said that a man in his 50s had been shot, however, he did not confirm if the victim was Preston.

"A male in his 50s has been shot, and may have passed away," he said.
"Another male at the scene has also been shot, I believe in the stomach."
Ambulance Victoria said a man had been taken to hospital in a critical condition, the ABC reported.
