New Year’s resolution: ‘Make it an action or a behaviour’

Health and Community Psychologist Dr Marny Lishman has suggested people who are creating a New Year’s resolution should be “specific” and pick one thing.

Dr Lishman said some people tend to pick a resolution which is either massive and unachievable or “extremely boring”.

“A lot of us will come up with numerous goals but what I would say is be really specific, pick one and pick the one that excites you the most because we don’t want you failing straight up,” she told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave.

“We want you to build your self-efficacy and confidence.

“Make it an action or a behaviour.”
