A 29-year-old man has died after being shot by police during a confrontation in Sydney's south west.
Police said they were called to a home in William Street, Yagoona, about 8.50am, after receiving reports of a domestic violence-related incident.
Officers were confronted by an armed man upon arriving at the scene.

"A taser was deployed before a police officer discharged his firearm," police said.
"Police immediately rendered first aid to the 29-year-old man until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics."
The man was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condtion, but later died from his injuries.
A critical incident investigation has been launched. This will be subject to an independent review.
