Thousands of Instagram users in Australia and around the world have reported an outage on the social media app.
Website DownDetector has shown two spikes of global outage reports, one of 57,398 reports just before 1pm and the other an hour later with 52,143.
Australian outages tracked by the site peaked at 2476 at 1:55.

The hashtag "#instagramdown" has been trending on Twitter as people around the globe complain of issues using the app, particularly around refreshing their feeds and getting new posts to appear.
Neither Instagram or parent company Meta has publicly confirmed the outage.
