‘I thought she would live forever’: TV legend Betty White dies weeks before turning 100

Hollywood icon Betty White was best known for her roles in ‘The Golden Girls’ and ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ – and became a cultural icon in her 80s and 90s.

It comes as Ms White passed away at her home in California on Friday morning United States time from natural causes.

Her agent and close friend confirmed the news in a statement saying: “Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever … I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much.

“I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”
