Five-day tests scrapped immediately

The government has made the decision to scrap the test, effective immediately, after data showed that just 0.6 per cent of cases were coming from the tests. Initially, anyone who was returning from a Covid-19 hotspot interstate was required to get a test five days after they return. More to come. Photos show the line spilling out onto Angus Smith Drive, with reports suggesting the line may almost be at the Nathan St roundabout. Similar photos have appeared online from the 1300SMILES facility, with hundreds of cars spilling out onto the street since the early hours of the morning. Yesterday, the 1300SMILES facility had to close the gates at 3pm in order to get through the backlog. The JCU facility was opened to help deal with the testing demand.
