First time parents face COVID uncertainty

Architect and expecting Father Stewart Cowan says his wife is “extremely worried” he won’t be allowed to be at her side for the birth of their first child due to COVID testing requirements.

“Essentially, we’re at the point now where the baby could come at any time, and we’ve been advised by the doctors that we should probably seek a test every two days rather than three, just because of how exorbitant the wait times have been on the results,” he told Sky News host Caleb Bond.

“Look, the rules are changing as well; the last couple of days we’ve seen the premier, and Scott Morrison today also talking about the shifts and the changes in the requirements around these things and how we’re moving to the rapid tests and all the rest of it.

“But it’s still such a difficult time in any young couple’s life to try and navigate a pregnancy.”
