Firebug fears: Home, car targeted in molotov cocktail attacks

Police and fire crews were alerted to a small fire at a home on Herrings Lane Happy Valley about 10pm Wednesday. The blaze was contained and caused minor damage to the front premises, and occupants weren’t injured. About three hours later, around 1.30am Thursday, a gold Holden Sedan was reported alight in the driveway of Valleyfair Rd at Hackham West. The fire was contained but the vehicle was significantly damaged. Police found a molotov cocktail near the vehicle. Investigations are underway over both suspicious fires and police believe they are linked.Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. It comes after two fires within half an hour in the southern suburbs including one which occurred at O’Sullivan Beach and another at Sheidow Park. The O’Sullivan Beach home was significantly damaged and the shed at Sheidow Park was destroyed including its contents of a car and motorbike. AA Tiser News Feed October 2021
