A desperate search is underway for a man who has been missing for almost a day off the coast of Queensland.
A radio distress call was made from the yacht last night off Sandy Cape at the northern tip of K'gari (Fraser Island) after the boat started to take on water.
This triggered a major search effort between police, volunteer marine rescue crews and several helicopters.

A 25-year-old woman was rescued from the water by a helicopter this morning and taken to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment.
It is believed only two people were on board the yacht.
