Dashcam footage shows Melbourne motorcyclist being taken out by ute

A motorcyclist has said he owes his life to protective clothing after sharing footage of him being knocked off his bike during a crash in Melbourne.

The dashcam footage shows the rider crashing head-on into a ute, which turned into his path, causing him to go tumbling along the road in Mount Waverley about 10.20am on Monday.

"I survived the crash. Got lots of fractures and needed a surgery. Proper riding gear saved my life," the rider told Dash Cam Owners Australia.
