It’s believed May was embroiled in a “dust up” with former teammate Michael Rischitelli during a drunken Mad Monday session. It’s now the third known altercation involving May and a teammate, following Sunday night’s clash with Demons teammate Jake Melksham. In 2013 May and then Suns teammate Campbell Brown were involved in a drunken altercation outside an LA nightclub which saw May emerge with a broken jaw.Brown’s contract, which was due to expire at the end of the following year, was terminated.May was co-captain of Gold Coast in the 2017 and 2018 seasons and played 123 games before crossing to the Demons. He and Melksham have now apologised to the up-market Prahran restaurant Entrecote, where they brawled.Melksham allegedly “floored” May after being taunted about missing last year’s drought-breaking premiership.“If you had have played in the granny (grand final), we would have lost,” May allegedly said to Melksham during a booze-fuelled spat.May insisted the altercation would not affect his relationship with Melksham, who had to undergo surgery on a hand infection. Captain Max Gawn admitted he was embarrassed by events of the weekend.“We’re really good mates; we have a lot of love for each other,” May said.
