Boy fighting for life after being hit by car outside his Melbourne home

A teenager has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in south-east Melbourne today.

Police are investigating the collision in Mount Waverley.

Officers were told a 14-year-old boy was struck by a Subaru SUV Wagon outside a residential property just after 8am.

The Mount Waverley teenager has been taken to hospital.

Police have spoken with a 46-year-old female driver who is helping them with inquiries.

Neighbours rushed to help him after he was hit.

Investigations remain ongoing.
