Arson probe after two party buses set alight

Two party buses have been set alight in alleged arson incidents in regional New South Wales. 

Police are seeking information on the incidents, which took place in Metford and Raymond Terrace, near Newcastle, last year.

The first bus caught fire on August 22 at 3.40am.

The party bus, parked on Streeton Drive in Metford, suffered significant damage in the fire.

A second bus went up in flames on September 20 at 4am.

The bus was parked on Kuranga Avenue in Raymond Terrace and was completely destroyed by the fire as it engulfed the vehicle.

Police have formed an investigation under Strike Force Debercant and are asking the public for assistance.

The strike force has identified a man, described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a medium to solid build.

He is estimated to be 180-185cm tall and aged in his 40s.

Police have also released footage of a Nissan X-trail seen in Metford.

They believe the driver can assist them in their investigation.
